VOSA Roadside Checks now Include Fixed Penalties
From last month Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA) examiners are to begin issuing fixed penalties to drivers for infringements detected during roadside enforcement checks. These powers, previously only available to the police, allows VOSA examiners to enforce fixed penalties which have been extended to include more offences such as drivers’ hours and certification infringements. The Freight Transport Association welcomes these checks and expects there will be an improvement in road safety.
