Keep Britain's Roads Tidy
According to the Highways Agency over 700,000 bags of rubbish are removed from England's roads each year, with Defra estimating that £667 million of tax payers money is spent cleaning up litter on our streets each year. Keep Britain Tidy, an environmental charity, has launched a petition to highlight the increase of littering from vehicles. Keep Britain Tidy are encouraging members of the public to sign the petition when they witness someone littering from their vehicle. Keep Britain Tidy say that those who drop litter from vehicles should be fined and receive one penalty point on their licence.
