JOB DESCRIPTION JOB TITLE: H.G.V. CARTRANSPORTER DRIVER REPORTING TO: TRANSPORT MANAGER PURPOSE OF JOB: To drive & operate vehicle carrying equipment, safely, securely & compliant with legal obligations, ensuring high levels of customer service, delivery performance & professionalism are maintained always. PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1. To drive vehicle transporters operated by the company in accordance with road transport legislation, national speed limits & weather conditions. 2. To load, secure & unload vehicles in accordance with company & customer instructions. 3. To operate tachograph recording equipment in compliance with legislation maintaining accurate records of work. 4. To undertake daily vehicle inspections & checks, completing supplied record books, reporting any defects found to company management. 5. Submit sheets on a weekly basis. 6. To accurately administer company/customer documentation for all goods carried. 7. To use or wear all appropriate safety clothing or equipment whilst undertaking assigned duties. 8. To report any issues, faults, accidents/near misses or emergencies to the line manager. PERSONAL PROFILE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE � Full clean HGV (C+E) driving licence, digital tachograph & CPC cards. � Minimum of 3 years U.K professional/commercial driving experience. � Sound communication skills. � Good numeracy abilities. � Excellent geographical knowledge of the U.K & road network. � Smart appearance, courteous manner & can-do attitude. � Thorough knowledge of Drivers Hours Regulation & Working Time Directive for remote workers. � Willingness & ability to undertake multi-nights out. � Strong Health & Safety awareness & disciplines. � Ability to use initiative, composure & follow instructions always.
