Job role Working closely with the Transport Manager the position of Transport Planner holds responsibility for ensuring all group contracts are properly serviced using correct vehicles. In addition to this the Transport Planner will be responsible for the efficient routing and recording of all vehicle movements, issuing driver instructions, monitoring driver performance and liaising with customers. Key Responsibilities � Responsible for the day-to-day running of the transport function � Support the business with all transport activity, resolving any issues promptly � Management and updating of the transport schedules and transport diary � Securing outside sub-contractors and agency drivers when resources are at capacity � Operate within a shared out of hours call rota to resolve problems � Liaise and communicate with other depots nationally and internationally to ensure logistical and transport requirements are being met for all contracts, and that all opportunities are being realised and maximised � Responsible for communicating requirements to depot staff and producing clear and accurate workloads in a timely manner along with the day-to-day management of drivers Please get in contact with Mike on 01634 825580 INDCHAT
