HGV Technician/Mechanic, Class 2 Recovery Driver - Days. Based on 10 Hour Days x 5 Day week at GBP12.50 to GBP15.00 ph. Salary is c GBP35 - GBP37,00o pa. Are you a fully qualified HGV Technician/Commercial Vehicle Mechanic looking for their next opportunity. Due to expansion, our Client are looking to recruit more staff for the recovery department. Being a recovery driver, you will find that every day is varied, you will be in different places meeting different people in many situations. Your Job as a recovery operative will be attending a large variety of vehicles broken down/disabled at the roadside following mechanical failure, multi punctured tyres or RTCs. Daily duties involve driving from job to job within a time frame, inspecting, loading casualty vehicles then recovering them to desired locations. Sometimes this will include passengers so the ideal applicant will be polite, professional and of tidy appearance at all times. Occasionally customers will have been in very stressful situations and you will need to be able to communicate with them calmly and sympathetically. The Role: � Service, maintenance and repairs to commercial vehicles � Carrying out vehicle inspections and rectifying defects � Diagnosing faults � Completing service and repair records � Road test vehicles where necessary � Maintain a clean and tidy workplace � Adhering to company policy and procedures Required Education, Skills and Qualifications The successful candidate will: - Be team player, be able to use their own initiative to resolve challenging situations; have good communication skills, you will be dealing with customers face to face and over the phone; happy to work flexible hours on a shift system which will at times include an on-call service on a 1 in 2 weeks Rota.
